Check-In Settings

Configure QR token security, duplicate prevention, and post-check-in giving prompts.

What it is

Check-in settings control how your QR codes behave, how duplicate check-ins are handled, and whether guests see a giving prompt after checking in.

Where to find it

  • Dashboard → Settings → Check-In (/dashboard/settings/check-in)
  • Also accessible from the Check-In tab in Dashboard → Settings

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Open check-in settings — Go to Dashboard → Settings and select the Check-In tab, or navigate directly to /dashboard/settings/check-in.
  2. Review QR token settings — QR codes use secure tokens with configurable rotation and time-to-live (TTL). Rotate tokens if a code is compromised.
  3. Set duplicate window — Choose how long before the same person can check in again (e.g., 4 hours for a single service).
  4. Enable Turnstile (optional) — Add bot protection to your check-in form for public-facing QR codes.
  5. Configure post-check-in giving — Toggle whether guests see a giving prompt immediately after check-in.
  6. Save changes — Settings apply to new check-in sessions immediately.

Tips & common issues

  • Token rotation — If you suspect a QR code was shared publicly or misused, rotate the token from settings and reprint your signage.
  • Giving prompt — Enabling the post-check-in giving prompt is a gentle way to invite first-time guests to give without interrupting the check-in flow.
  • Test before Sunday — Scan your QR code from a personal phone before service to confirm branding, fields, and consent text look correct.
