Events & Groups

Schedule church events and organize people into groups with capacity limits.

What it is

Events lets you schedule services, classes, and special gatherings on a calendar. Groups lets you organize people into ministry teams, small groups, or volunteer crews with optional capacity limits.

Where to find it

  • Dashboard → Events (/dashboard/events)
  • Dashboard → Groups (/dashboard/groups)

Step-by-step workflow

Events

  1. Open Events — Navigate to Dashboard → Events.
  2. Create an event — Click New Event (or visit with ?create=true). Enter title, date, time, campus, and recurrence if applicable.
  3. View calendar — Switch between week and day views to see your schedule.
  4. Link to attendance — Check-ins associated with an event appear in Attendance filters by service type.

Groups

  1. Open Groups — Navigate to Dashboard → Groups.
  2. Create a group — Add a name, description, and optional capacity limit.
  3. Add members — Drag people into groups or assign them from the person drawer.
  4. Guest check-in — Groups can appear as options on the guest check-in form so visitors can self-select a group.

Tips & common issues

  • Recurring events — Set recurrence rules for weekly services so you don't recreate them each Sunday.
  • Group capacity — Set capacity limits on groups that have physical space constraints (e.g., nursery, youth class).
  • Automations — Create automations triggered by event creation or reminders to notify registered attendees.
