Member Signup

Invite members with join links, QR codes, and short church codes — review applications from the dashboard.

What it is

Member Signup lets church admins invite people to join the church as members using shareable join links, QR codes, or a short church code. Pending applications can be reviewed and approved from the dashboard.

Where to find it

  • Dashboard → Settings → Member Signup (/dashboard/settings/member-signup)
  • Applications: /dashboard/members/applications

Step-by-step workflow

Join links and codes

  1. Open Member Signup settings — Go to Dashboard → Settings and select the Member Signup tab.
  2. Create a join link — Generate a unique invite link (with optional QR code) to share via email, text, or print.
  3. View church code — Your church has a short alphanumeric church code (6–8 characters, e.g. SF8K2P) members can enter in the member portal or use in check-in links. Public URLs accept the church code or your legacy slug.
  4. Revoke or regenerate — If a link is compromised, revoke it and create a new one.

Member applications

  1. Open Applications — Go to Dashboard → Member Applications.
  2. Review pending — See members who have requested to join or completed a join link flow.
  3. Approve or reject — Approve applications to mark people as members, or reject with an optional note.

Member portal flow

  1. A person checks in first (creating their profile) or uses a join link.
  2. They visit /member/login?church={slug} and sign in with their phone or email.
  3. They receive a personal QR code for quick future check-ins.
  4. An admin approves their member status from People or Applications.

Tips & common issues

  • Check-in first — New people must check in (or use a join link) before they can access the member portal. This ensures every member has a profile.
  • Manual member flag — Even without formal approval, guests can use the member portal. The member flag is for reporting and segmentation.
  • Church code on Sunday — Display your church code on screens or bulletins so regular attendees can self-associate with your church.
