People

Search and manage your congregation — guests, members, contact info, and attendance history.

What it is

The People directory is your church's contact database. Every guest who checks in and every member you add appears here with contact details, member status, tags, groups, and attendance history.

Where to find it

  • Dashboard → People (/dashboard/people)

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Open People — Go to Dashboard → People from the sidebar.
  2. Search — Use the search bar to find someone by name, phone, or email.
  3. Filter — Filter by member/guest status, application status, or tags.
  4. Open a person — Click a person card to open the drawer with full details, attendance percentage, groups, and communication history.
  5. Mark as member — Toggle the Member checkbox in the person drawer to change a guest to a member.
  6. Send a message — From the drawer, jump to Dashboard → Chat with that person pre-selected.
  7. Review after import — If you just imported data, visit /dashboard/people?fromImport=1 to review and fix any records that need attention.

Tips & common issues

  • Guests vs members — Guests can still use the member portal and QR check-in even with is_member set to false. The member flag is mainly for segmentation and reporting.
  • Member applications — Pending member applications appear in Dashboard → Member Applications for review.
  • Post-import cleanup — After a data migration, scan the People page for duplicates or missing contact info before sending campaigns.
